I have been fascinated and inspired by the abundant display of colour in nature and was compelled to study the origins of and the application of colour in architecture, interiors and urban areas.

From the crisp blue and white buildings in the Greek Islands to the delightfully bright houses of the La Boca area of Buenos Aires or the warm softness of a Tuscan villa, the effect of colour can be powerfully evocative. Some memories are indelible!

After living in the same house for many years, after a sudden change in my circumstances, I found myself regularly moving to a different place to live. Each time, I found that I wanted to almost immediately design my space so that it looked beautiful and comfortable. If I could make it feel luxurious as well, then that was even better. I would try to achieve this by using what I already had and simply arranging the furniture and accessories to look inviting and welcoming. Occasionally, I needed to add a special touch like cushions I made myself from exquisite Designer’s Guild fabric bought locally.

One of my all-time favourite pieces which I still have, is a beautifully painted hand carved Balinese temple door. Luckily, it fits together like a wooden puzzle and can be easily transported. Such a beautiful and clever piece of art!
